While organising and sending a group of award winning HTMi Students to work in the hospitality operations of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, we appreciate the strong support of the President of FIFA Mr. Sepp Blatter and the President of South Africa, Mr. Jacob Zuma. Huge appreciation also goes to His Excellency Mr. George Johannes, Ambassador of South Africa to Switzerland and the South African Embassy for their assistance in making possible for our students to show their future managerial skills in the various operational areas of the five-star hotels they worked in.? ?To quote some comments from the General Managers of two of the properties where the students worked:

Ian Larmour, Director, HTMi writes “On behalf of HTMi. we would like to thank Master Chef Heston Blumenthal, and owner of the three Michelin Star restaurant, The Fat Duck, UK, for choosing one of our top graduates Alexander Rogin, to do a one year’s food and beverage training in The Fat Duck. We would also like to congratulate Alexander Rogin for being chosen amongst many excellent candidates for this highly valued training opportunity. This is also a credit to the quality of the HTMi Management Training Programme which is a part of the courses at HTMi”
The announcement was made at the Marriott Zurich, and Alexander is pictured receiving his award for this from David Hailstones, Director of Operations, HTMi.

Mr Zsolt Siket, Manager Centre For Career Management at HTMi, explained that the Michelin Star is awarded by the Michelin Red Guide, the oldest and best-known Hotel and Restaurant guide. A three-star Michelin ranking is exceedingly rare. Out of millions of restaurants around the world, there are only 81 restaurants in the world who have the prestigious three star award. In the last 7 years, The Fat Duck, has been consecutively voted in the top 3 of the San Pellegrino’s Worlds best restaurants list.

Heston Blumenthal is a master chef and owner of The Fat Duck, a three Michelin Star restaurant in the UK, voted Best Restaurant in the UK by The Good Food Guide in 2007 and 2009, and voted best restaurant in the world by Restaurant magazine in 2005. His restaurant has been a perennial runner-up in the Ferran Adaria of E! Bull in the world rankings, achieving 2nd place in 2009 and 3rd in 2010. In 2010, Mr Blumenthal is famous for his scientific approach and has been described as a culinary alchemist for his innovative style of cooking. Mr Blumenthal signed a two-year deal with UK TV Channel 4 in March 2008, joining the channel's roster of celebrity chefs which already included Jamie Oliver, Hugh Feamley Whittingstail and Gordon Ramsay, Mr Blumenthal is also a renowned author of many books on cooking.

Prof. Joe Goldblatt advised HTMi on the launch and development of the Centre for Events Management Training in HTMi. To honour Prof. Goldblatt and to encourage excellence in events management, the Centre’s Manager, Mr Anthony Lack established an award the “Dr Joe Goldblatt Award for Excellence in Event Leadership”. At the Marriott Zurich on Friday, 11th June 2010, Prof Goldblatt presented the award to two students: Ms. Narumon Nilanon from Thailand and Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa from Vitenam ( pictured with Prof Joe Goldblatt, left, and Mr Anthony Lack, right), who both showed unprecedented attitude, skills and excellence towards organizing and leading students in preparation of many of the events at HTMi, and positively influenced other students with their enthusiasm.

Prof. Dr. Joe Goldblatt, CSEP is the Executive Director of the International Centre for the Study of Planned Events and is a Lecturer in the Tourism, Hospitality and Events Group at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Prior to this position, he was senior lecturer at Temple University’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management and he also served as executive director for professional development and strategic partnerships for the School. He is the founding president of the International Special Events Society and the developer of the original Certified Special Events Professional program. Prior to joining Temple University he served as Dean of the graduate school at Johnson & Wales University and he created the first Master’s Degree and professional certificate programs in the field of event management at The George Washington University. He is the author, co-author or editor of 19 books and hundreds of scholarly and trade publication articles. He has lectured on five continents in over 50 countries and produced hundreds of events for luminaries including two U.S. presidents, the opening of the Donald Trump Taj Mahal Resort. Goldblatt received the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award for service to the industry from ISES. Event Solutions Magazine awarded him the Industry Visionary Award for his contributions to event management education and research. He was among the first individuals inducted into the Events Industry Hall of Fame. He received the highest award from the Creative Marketing Laboratory of Russia, when he was presented with the prestigious silver medal for lifetime career achievements.
He was among the first individuals inducted into the Event Solutions Magazine Events Industry Hall of Fame. In 2005, he was awarded the Silver Medal from the Creative Marketing Laboratory of Russia for lifetime career achievements. In 2007 Dr. Goldblatt was named Event Educator of the Year by the Professional Convention Management Association and in 2008 he was honoured as the Distinguished Alumnus from his alma mater, St. Edward’s University. In September 2008 Dr. Goldblatt was the first educator to be inducted into the International Festivals and Events Association Hall of Fame.

With less than 14 days to go to the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, his Excellency Ambassador George Johannes, South African Ambassador to Switzerland together with senior diplomatic officials of the South African Embassy in Bern invited the HTMi Management team and all the award winning students selected as volunteers to work at the World Cup 20010 in South Africa to a presentation and luncheon at the Hilton Hotel Zurich, also hosted by Mrs. Bettina Schutt, General Manager of the Hilton Hotel Zurich. Mrs. Schutt commented on how impressed she was with the students of HTMi and the opportunity the school has given them, and the steps HTMi is taking towards becoming one of the Leading Hotel Management Schools in the World.
為南非世界盃開賽做賽前準備，在不到14天的日子裡，喬治喬納森先生, 南非駐瑞士大使與南非使館各外交高級官員邀請了HTMi管理團隊及所有到2010年南非世界盃參加志願者工作的優秀獲獎學生們，他們一起在蘇黎士希爾頓酒店發表演說並共進午餐，主辦此次活動的還有蘇黎士希爾頓酒店總經理Bettina Schutt女士。Schutt 女士說，本校提供給學生難能可貴的機會，在與同學們共事期間給她留下了極深刻的印象，HTMi飯店管理大學向成為世界一流飯店管理大學又邁進了一步。
The South African Ambassador made a speech thanking the students and HTMi for their contribution to the success and support of the FIFA World Cup, and for supporting the students to travel to South Africa for this once in-a-lifetime opportunity. This was a followed by a short speech by HTMi representative Mr. Anthony Lack, HTMi Events Manager who thanked the South African President Jacob Zuma, and Ambassador Johannes of the South African Embassy for their support and assistance in making this opportunity for the students an actuality. On behalf of the HTMi students Zoltan Zahorszki from Hungary said “the students are proud of themselves to be part of one of the biggest events in the world, and to play Ambassadors of not only their own countries, but of Switzerland and HTMi as well.”

We would also like to thank the support of leading hotel groups in South Africa, Southern Sun Hotel Group, and Peermont Hotels and Resorts for organising excellent work experience for HTMi’s award winning students.

世界排名第一的網球選手費德勒父母參加HTMi國際慶典活動
HTMi launched the first International Gala Event at HTMi more than 10 years ago, being the first Hotel Management Institute in Switzerland to do this every semester. So once again congratulations to the entire student and staff teams for hosting this very special event on Friday, 21st May 2010 at HTMi. The evening was a great success and guests from all over the world came to enjoy an international fusion of delicious food prepared by our excellent HTMi students. The entertainment was first class and everyone experienced a high quality leading International Gala Evening.
從HTMi飯店管理大學發起首屆國際慶典活動起至今已有超過十年的歷史了，本校的慶典活動每個學期都會如期舉辦。而本校也是第一個進行這樣大型慶祝活動的瑞士飯店管理大學。因此，讓我們再次為在2010年5月21日星期五為我們奉獻上這場非凡盛宴的全體學生及師生團隊表示由衷的祝賀。此次晚會舉辦的十分成功，各位遠道而來的客人在晚會上享受了由HTMi優秀學生們精心準備的國際美食。再加上一流的服務與組織，這一切讓在場的每一位來賓都充分體驗到了高水準的國際慶典活動。蒞臨本次慶典的來賓包括許多HTMi飯店管理大學在瑞士以及世界各地的朋友。
The guests included many of HTMi's friends from Switzerland and from around the world. In addition it was an honour to welcome numerous Ambassadors, members of the Diplomatic Corps and Government Representatives in Switzerland from China, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Turkey and Indonesia. The star guests were Mr. and Mrs. Robert & Lynette Federer the parents of the number 1 ranked tennis player in the world, Roger Federer (who unfortunately couldn’t attend due to his tennis commitments in Paris), who were warmly welcomed by everyone and who together with HTMi supported the Roger Federer Foundation charity.
另外，我們非常榮幸的邀請到了許多國家的駐瑞大使，外交使團成員及中國、南非、哈薩克斯坦、馬來西亞、土耳其及印尼駐瑞士的政府代表，對於他們的到來我們感到萬分榮幸。所有來賓裡最引人矚目的當屬世界排名第一的網球選手費德勒（由於本人正在巴黎參加法網公開賽非常遺憾沒能親自到場）的父母----Robert Federer 先生和Lynette Federer 夫人，他們的到來受到在場所有人的熱烈歡迎。他們與HTMi飯店管理大學一起支持了Roger Federer 慈善基金會。
Following the event Mr and Mrs Federer wrote : 活動結束後， Federer 夫婦致信到本校，內容如下：

HTMi管理團隊包括學生榮獲 2010年6月南非主辦世界盃足球賽擔任管理職務. HTMi管理團隊於5月4日接受南非駐瑞士大使親自邀請及接受午餐招待. 是唯一瑞士飯店管理大學擔任此重大任務及殊榮. 可見 HTMi管理團隊專業程度,備受國際肯定.2010年5月4日，星期二，國際世界盃足球賽主席布拉特先生和南非駐瑞士大使喬治•喬納森先生(同時也是駐列支敦士登大使及駐梵蒂岡大使)在位於瑞士蘇黎世國際足聯總部的世界足聯大廈邀請了HTMi管理團隊的成員及其在2010世界盃期間被選派到南非工作的學生們共進午宴。
同樣出席午宴的還有所有瑞士世界盃志願者，韓國駐瑞士大使，日本駐瑞士大使，墨西哥駐瑞士大使，象牙海岸駐瑞士大使，加納駐瑞士大使, 喀麥隆駐瑞士大使及阿爾及利亞駐瑞士大使。他們為所有來賓都準備了典型的蘇黎世風格的午餐，隨後，布拉特先生，國際足聯小組裡負責國際足聯事務及世界盃事務的成員們發表了演講並與來賓們合影留念。所有來賓還在國際足聯總部大樓內進行了參觀，其中包括被國際足聯主席用來會見高官的私人會所，國際足聯執行委員會商討世界足聯世界盃各項事宜的國際足聯會議室。參觀結束後，來賓們一天的活動便到此為止。
一批獲獎的學生們正由HTMi宴會及管理活動培訓中心和職業管理中心遣派至國際足聯世界盃場地作為對休閒娛樂管理工作的支援。
HTMi Delegation at FIFA Head Quarters in Zurich
Mr. Sepp Blatter, President of FIFA and His Excellency George Johannes, South African Ambassador to Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the Vatican invited members of the HTMi Management Team and those students selected to work in South Africa during the World Cup 2010 to a luncheon on Tuesday, 4th May 2010 at FIFA House, the worldwide headquarters of FIFA in Zurich Switzerland. The luncheon was also attended by all Swiss volunteers working at the World Cup as well as the Ambassadors of Korea, Japan, Mexico, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon and Algeria based in Switzerland. All guests were treated to a typical Zurich style lunch, followed by a presentation and photo session with Mr. Sepp Blatter and members of the FIFA team on FIFA and the World Cup. To end the day all guests were given a tour of the FIFA headquarters building including the private lounge used by the FIFA President to meet dignitaries and the FIFA conference room where the FIFA Executive Committee meets to oversee the plan in all aspects of the FIFA world cup.
The Centre for Events Management Training and The Centre for Career Management at HTMi is sending a group of award winning students to work in the hospitality operations supporting the FIFA World Cup.

“Touch Teach and Learn” - Apple Strategy Update – 觸控、教學、學習 － 蘋果策略提昇
In 2009 HTMi established the first International Hotel School-based Research and Development Centre, setup to research and develop iPod Touch applications for hospitality education, training and operations. Since the establishment of the Centre, we have embarked on a strategy of “Touch, Teach and Learn” so that the Apple iPod Touch technology becomes an everyday part of life, learning and teaching at HTMi. Following very high investment in software and hardware resources the benefits to students and teachers are starting to grow, with the emergence of HTMi Applications for use on Apple iPod Touch.?
在2009年HTMi首度成立第一所擁有研究發展中心的國際飯店管理學校，並將iPod Touch設備與飯店教育、訓練和管理做結合，自從此項企劃完工後HTMi將Apple iPod Touch成為學生日常生活中的一部份，透過觸控按鍵，師生即可教學和學習。這樣高投資於學校的軟硬體設備，有助於師生的共同學習和成長。
In 2010 HTMi recently sent a senior management delegation to the Education Leadership Conference 2010 in Prague organised by Apple, with the intention of sharing best practice of its technology uses in education. This conference enabled HTMi’s launch into the international community of education providers that use Apple technology to improve teaching and learning. A further major announcement on the development of the “Touch, Teach and Learn” strategy at HTMi will be made at the Marriott in Zurich in June 2010.?

Professional Guest Chef Programme 專業級廚師訪校企劃
The Centre for Culinary Management at HTMi, is launching its new Professional Guest Chef Progarmme inviting some of the top chefs from around the world. This is part of our strategy to grow the presence of the Centre for Culinary Management in the global professional culinary management network. The Chefs visiting HTMi will be invited to stay as long as required to coach our culinary students, support culinary events and work with the Chefs at HTMi to create exchange culinary concepts and create unique menus to support the Swiss Culinary Art concept for international taste palates. Wine and dish pairing is also a key focus.
HTMi廚藝管理研究中心積極著手全新的專業級廚師訪校企劃，HTMi邀請全世界頂尖級廚師到校授課，此策略將提升目前HTMi廚藝管理研究中心在全球專業廚藝管理網路的地位。專業級廚師將會指導本校學生廚藝課程、協助各大會議活動的餐飲部份，以及創造新料理將瑞士廚藝與各國料理作完美結合，當然酒類和菜餚的搭配是廚藝課程的學習重點之一。

To promote Swiss Hospitality Education in Taiwan, HTMi has now signed many education agreements with many of the leading hospitality and tourism management academic institutions in Taiwan. HTMi瑞士飯店管理大學於2009年11月 6日與實踐大學高雄校區簽訂MOU學術交流備忘錄. 學術合作包括研究合作, 交換學者, 交換教授, 交換學生.
2009年11月 17日實踐大學高雄校區魏助理教授代表校方參加瑞士HTMi 舉辦International Hospitality Research Conference 國際餐旅研究會議, 從11月18-20日為期3天會議及分組研討會及教授,學生發表論文. 會議最後一天參加HTMi舉辦International Night國際之夜, 由HTMi大學部 Diploma學生籌辦, 邀請各國駐瑞士使節或國際機構參與盛會, 台灣駐瑞士代表處也派第一秘書參與盛會.
HTMi瑞士飯店管理大學Head of Research centre Dr. Hazel Sommerville, 於12月8日將代表瑞士HTMi到實踐大學高雄校區作教授訪問及發表文章speech.

2009年HTMi的畢業頒獎典禮盛大舉行於瑞士蘇黎士的頂級五星級飯店”The Dolder Grand”
2009年6月12日( 週五 )，HTMi飯店管理大學於瑞士蘇黎士的五星級頂級精品飯店The Dolder Grand舉行畢業典禮及頒獎典禮。著名的The Dolder Grand 建於 1899 年，是全世界指標性的頂級五星級大飯店。
本校致力於成為全求頂尖的飯店管理大學，因此在The Dolder Grand飯店舉辦畢業頒獎典禮及十週年校慶對於HTMi來說是最適合不過，HTMi也成為首家飯店管理大學在頂級飯店舉辦畢業典禮的學校，並且本校的傳統是挑選頂級的飯店來慶祝全體學生和所有教職員工的貢獻及努力。

創新的精品概念學生宿舍
在6月12日畢業典禮當天，校方終於揭開規畫已久的學生宿舍整修計畫，HTMi 目前正在新裝璜所有宿舍改裝成精品宿舍 Boutique Style Student Concept Rooms，有衛浴、電視、冰箱、 Apple 支援無線上網系統 . 預計 16-18 個月完成2 間飯店學校 Hotel Campus 所有宿舍裝璜 。此計畫稱作『創新精品概念學生宿舍』，此概念宿舍提供獨特且現代化及有朝氣的生活環境，同時結合科技和讀書環境空間的設計給每位學生。宿舍內有高速頻寬光學電纜－無線網路系統及與Apple公司合作的IPOD Touch使用，學生可藉由方便的網路系統放鬆，也不用孤單一人的準備分組報告，這些方便的網路系統都可以幫你達成，此外每個房間還有SKYPE電話系統。此次的宿舍設計概念圍繞著兩個主題“ Orange Blossom” 和"Shades of Lemon and Lime”，在2009年的七月份和八月份20間的新宿舍將會更新測試完成，這項宿舍更新計畫將在2010年底全部更新完畢。HTMi的目標就是要提供學生一個良好舒適且創新便利的生活環境。

HTMI成立餐旅研究中心R & D與美國Apple電腦公司合作教學系統
在畢業典禮及十週年慶上,HTMi宣佈, 首創研究和發展部門中心Research & Development Centre與知名美國電腦品牌Apple公司結合，攜手合作飯店管理教學、訓練課程及校內網路系統（HTMi R & D centre for Apple iPhone Touch, iTounes U , In Hospitality Management & Training, operations.）未來在校園的每位學生都有機會使用到免費提供的掌上型Apple IPOD Touch, 可連接到校方由Sisco?和Apple servers所提供的高頻寬無線網路系統。目前 HTMi 是歐洲第一家與Apple公司合作網路教學系統的飯店管理大學，當然對於Apple公司也是他首次與飯店學校合作。HTMi大筆投資與科技業合作的目的是為了要提供HTMi的師生們有良好的學習設備，此強大的網路系統可直接連結至Apple公司，裡面有許多免費的軟體可供使用，例如：email, SKYPE telephone calling ( throughout the entire Campus),? “Safari” internet search engine, translation software, train timetables, telephone directories, time planners,?notes, school timetables, notice boards,等….。當然Apple公司機型的完美設計適合放在口袋方便收藏。此產品裡還有其他音樂及其他遊戲等軟體。HTMi預知科技業和飯店經營、教育訓練及操作經營的結合有無窮潛力，因而於今年起致力於發展研究中心來研發更多與科技業合作之計畫。在畢業典禮當日，瑞士Apple公司的負責人Frank Biernet說：『我們很榮幸與HTMi合作，雙方的觀念都相當創新及有遠見，很期待彼此之後的合作！』

Launching the First International Hospitality Research Centre and Journal
HTMi has launched the first International Hospitality Research Centre in Switzerland linked to an Academic Journal to publish student`s work which has been reviewed and peer reviewed by leading researchers. This is part of the HTMi strategy to make research a key part of the academic curriculum at all levels. In late 2008 HTMi opened its International Hospitality Research Centre in Soerenberg , and held its first international hospitality research conference, and then launched the International Hospitality Students Journal. This is an important addition to the development of HTMi, and the curriculum quality offered to our staff and students.

Focus on Research – Dr Hazel Sommerville.
HTMi is very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Hazel Sommerville, as Head of Research at HTMi. Dr Sommerville has published many journal articles and presented numerous conference papers, mainly in the research area of education. Prior to joining HTMi, Dr Sommerville held the following positions
Education Guidance Advisor, Credit Accumulation and Transfer Unit (CATS Unit), University of Paisley; Deputy Director, CATS Unit, University of Paisley; Director, Centre for Continuing Education, University of Paisley; Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of Paisley ; Interim Director, Centre for Learning and Teaching, University of Paisley; and latterly Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Academic and Professional Development, University of the West of Scotland.
Dr Sommerville is a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, and has many external examiner roles and memberships of various Government education committees and forums. She is a member of the Editorial Advisory Group, Journal of Widening Participation and Lifelong Learning and is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Adult and Continuing Education and the Journal of Widening Participation and Lifelong Learning .

HTMi has a special focus on research, planning and operation of planned event at all levels of study. This reflects the growing importance of events business in the global hospitality industry. To help strengthen and endorse the Centre for Events Managment, we recently welcomed Dr Joe Goldblatt, a world famous Events Director and author of many books on events managment. Dr Goldblatt pictured signing his books for the International Research Centre at HTMi, stated " I had the pleasure of visiting HTMi this past week and was extremely.impressed with the dedication of the academic team, the intellectual capacity and creativity of the students and the potential for further positive collaboration in planned events research and managment."

義守大學國際合作成果輝煌，締結姐妹校再創紀錄！義守大學與國際積極接軌，陸續與歐陸國家簽約締結姐妹校，本次的簽約對象是瑞士觀光產業人才培育重鎮的瑞士飯店管理大學，簽約儀式於13日在義守大學行政大樓十樓國際會議廳舉行。由瑞士飯店管理大學校長Ian R.J Larmour與義大校長傅勝利代表雙方學校，簽訂交換學生與教師、分享學術資源之合約書，開啟兩校交流之第一步。
Ian R.J Larmour表示，瑞士飯店大學位於瑞士中央的美麗花園城市Soerenberg 鎮，也是瑞士最吸引最多國際觀光客的一大渡假勝地。該大學辦學的特色再於飯店實習課程，學生們親自體驗飯店管理實務經驗，同時也從實習中獲得薪資減輕經濟負擔，可謂一舉數得。
傅勝利表示，今年義守大學在二月份正式成立的國際學院中也有一個國際餐旅學系，提供全美語的學習環境，這也成為與瑞士飯店大學合作的契機。國際學院中提供一流師資與設備，加上集團的飯店即將完成，也可提供學生優質的實習場域，所以非常歡迎瑞士當地學生來台交換就讀。
高雄縣義守大學與瑞士飯店管理大學簽訂兩校互惠合作案，該校學生在學校修讀一、兩年的課程後，即可在三、四年級選擇到瑞士飯店管理大學繼續學習，修習學分可全數抵免。藉由學海獎學金之遊學機制，義守大學學生也可選擇在暑假前往瑞士，實際與當地學生交流接觸；優秀學生甚至可爭取教育部學海飛颺、惜珠、築夢等獎學金，透過校方安排到瑞士飯店管理大學深造。同樣地瑞士的學生也可以利用交流機制到台灣的義大來進行短期進修，增添亞洲經歷!

高應大雙聯學制 放「洋」學生受益多

國立高雄應用科技大學與HTMi瑞士飯店管理大學簽訂雙聯學制合作計劃，去年八月共有八名觀光所學生分別前往瑞士、美國及新加坡，進行觀光與餐飲管理研究所雙聯學制研讀， 近日他們返台，分享國外求學的甘苦談，代理校長方俊雄恭賀同學通過第一階段的人生考驗，希望藉由學長姐的留學經驗，鼓舞在校學弟妹，拓展學習視野。
八名觀光所學生中，除了兩位學生已留在瑞士實習外，四位從瑞士歸國與兩位分別前往新加坡及美國的雙聯學制學生，共同於日前拜會方代理校長，與校長分享出國半年期間的學習歷程，還介紹當地的觀光景點與師長一同分享。
觀光系系主任王明元表示，這次參與雙聯學制的學生共有六位碩士研究生，可說是國際交流學生人數最多的一次，同學經過短期的國外進修，除了可以接觸更寬廣的學習領域，也能擁有海外的研讀經驗，讓未來無論在求學或就業上，都更佔優勢。
同學們回想起六個月的國外研讀，雖然短暫，但是剛到陌生環境時可說是狀況連連。從瑞士回來的徐培娟表示，一開始除了對陌生環境的不熟悉，主要還是語言上的障礙，還有同學一到當地就發生筆記型電腦故障，碰上語言不通也鬧出不少笑話，更離譜的是前往美國當交換學生的林芝榕還在海關被扣留，各式各樣的突發狀況，考驗同學們在陌生環境的應變能力與機智反應。
這次回國，同學們除了要繼續完成碩士論文取得文憑，也是回台灣過年並蒐集論文相關資料。經過這次的海外求學與在校老師的細心指導下，相信同學們在論文上，一定能交出漂亮的成績單，也讓大家在實務學習及理論上，擁有更豐富的知識領域。
高應大為加強與國外大學學術合作與交流，並提供所屬學生至雙方學校修讀相關學程的機會，如與國外大學簽訂雙聯學制合作計畫，包含越南河內經營科技大學、越南商業大學、瑞士飯店管理大學及日本、美國、德國等國際交換學生，讓學生能夠在理論跟實務上，有更寬廣的深造機會，雙聯學制學生修習跨國雙學位者，在兩校修業時間、修習學分數，均得予併計，將可同時擁有國內外兩個學位證明，對未來就業以及升學深造都有很大的幫助。 |

亞洲大學和HTMi瑞士飯店管理大學簽雙聯碩士合作 |

「你給我一個學生，我給你一個經理」，霧峰鄉私立亞洲大學與瑞士飯店大學簽訂兩校雙聯碩士學位合作案。
亞洲大學校長蔡文祥說，亞洲大學休閒與遊憩管理學系的碩士班學生，只要在校修習一年課程，提出申請通過，第二年即可赴瑞士，直接進入碩士班。
蔡文祥表示，瑞士飯店大學是一家四星級飯店，亞洲大學學生在這裡上課半年、支薪實習半年，再通過碩士學位考試，就可取得第一個碩士學位，返國後再回到亞洲大學，利用半年時間撰寫碩士論文，通過就可取得亞洲大學碩士學位。
在瑞士的碩士課程，強調實務的課程設計，不僅可以加強學生實務經驗和國際視野，支薪實習的安排也可以減輕學生經濟負擔，可謂一舉數得。
亞洲大學指出，出自瑞士飯店大學的碩士生，在國際飯店市場上，大都是經理級以上人才，不僅被業界普遍接受，已成為培育跨國飯店集團經理的搖籃，瑞士飯店大學歡迎亞洲大學碩士生到學校支薪實習拿學位。
台灣有十三位研究生在瑞士飯店大學攻讀，其中有台大學生，在杜拜帆船飯店有位經理，就是最近由學校畢業的中國大陸留學生，而瑞士飯店大學第一名學生就是台灣留學生。
亞洲大學表示，兩校合約是一項平等互惠的合作案，以後，來自全球各地的瑞士飯店大學碩士生，也可以申請就讀亞洲大學休閒與遊憩管理學系的碩士班，兩校教師也可以互相交流。

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Chef Andreas Kurfurst as the new Head Chef at HTMi. Chef Kurfurst joins HTMi in December 2011.
Andreas Kurfurst is currently the Vice President of the Emirates Culinary Guild and is the F & B Exec Chef at Marriott Salalah, Oman. Prior to that he was Director of Food & Beverage at the Renaissance Hotel Dubai. Chef Kurfurst has held various culinary positions including Executive Chef at both the Renaissance and Ramada Hotels in Dubai and the Pastry Chef at the Ramada Hotel Dubai. His Pastry Chef background started at the London Swiss Centre Restaurant at Leicester Square followed by extensive experience in Baghdad Iraq, before moving on to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he worked as pastry chef for four years. This included catering to many Saudi palaces, including the Crown Prince, who is now King of Saudi Arabia.

New Masters Course at HTMi with Edinburgh Napier University
HTMi is proud to announce that for the first time, an Edinburgh Napier University MSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management is being offered outside the United Kingdom at HTMi. Dr Paul Barron, Reader in the Edinburgh Napier University School of Marketing, Tourism and Languages and Programme Leader, said: “ we are delighted to add this programme to our increasing international portfolio and are looking forward to a long relationship with HTMi. This unique programme provides students the opportunity to study towards an Edinburgh Napier masters qualification in collaboration with an internationally recognised Swiss Hotel School”
