凱撒里茲大學領導專案主任SUSAN M. FOURNIER被獲選為I-CHRIE，國際會議飯店、 餐廳和教育制度執行董事會副主席。 在丹佛的2011年度會議裡她將擔任飯店管理教育協會的理事長Susan M. Fournier, "Cesar Ritz" Colleges’ Leadership Program Director, has been elected Vice-President of the Executive Board of I-CHRIE, the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education. She will be installed as President of this prestigious association of hospitality educators at the 2011 Annual Conference in Denver.

With around 1,500 members world-wide located in close to 50 countries, I-CHRIE works to enhance professionalism in the hospitality and tourism industry- and ultimately service quality and competitiveness - through education and training.
Susan M. Fournier has been an active board member of EuroCHRIE, the European federation. As Director of Networking, she oversees the bidding process and the attribution of the annual conference sites, including the past conferences in Dubai and Helsinki as well as the upcoming ones in Amsterdam (25-28 Oct. 2010) and Dubrovnik (Oct. 2011). She also served on the ACPHA-CAHM accreditation committee of I-CHRIE. For the last 15 years at "Cesar Ritz" Colleges, she has been teaching EFL and hospitality management courses as well as implementing a new Leadership Program. During her up-coming 3-year tenure as I-CHRIE Executive Board Member, she will work to develop each federation and strengthen the I-CHRIE brand to fulfill the vision that "I-CHRIE will become the recognized global leader in hospitality and tourism education and research."

一年一度的華盛頓州立大學商業計畫比賽第一輪選拔賽在凱撒里茲大學布里格校區舉行。參加的學生必須參加國際創業課程，並準備處理一些新的商業活動。
Once a year, the first selection for the Washington State University (WSU) Business Plan Competition takes place at the University Centre “Cesar Ritz” Brig campus. The students participating have to be part of the International Entrepreneurship course and prepare and present a new venture.
2010年3月15日，六支來自國際創業課程的隊伍向專業的評審小組提交了他們的計畫。這個評審小組包括了來自華盛頓州立大學的三位資深學者：商業系主任Spangenberg博士， 餐旅企業管理主任Nancy Swanger博士與Ahn博士。而評審小組第四位成員則是來自瑞士凱撒里茲大學的Hormer博士。
On 15 March 2010, six teams from the International Entrepreneurship course presented their ideas to a distinguished judging panel. The panel included three senior academics from Washington State University, Dr Spangenberg, Dean of the WSU College of Business, Dr Nancy Swanger, Director of the WSU School of Hospitality Business Management, and Dr Ahn. The fourth member of the panel was Dr Horner from “Cesar Ritz” Colleges Switzerland.

Abu Dhabi is the capital and second largest city of the United Arab Emirates and the centre of political, industrial, and cultural activities. Students were able to visit the Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition; our sister school European International College (EIC); the famous Emirates Palace; the Fairmont Hotel; The Shangri La; the Park Inn and, Radisson BLU on Yas Island. There was also time to visit the Heritage Village and experience a dazzling desert safari, and all in only eight days!

On 21 April 2010, students of "Cesar Ritz" Colleges Switzerland in Le Bouveret sharpened their interview skills before taking on their first internship in the hotel and tourism industry!

Every term, the career service department of "Cesar Ritz" Colleges organizes a practical day of speed interviews in order to prepare students for their first interviews. This time, over 90 students attended three interviews of three minutes each!
在每梯次課程結束後，凱撒里茲的就業輔導中心會協助即將要去實習的學生進行一連串的面試技巧訓練，這次共有90位學生參加3個面試，每位學生平均每3分鐘面試一個工作
Six-month industry internships are a very important part of the programmes offered by "Cesar Ritz" Colleges, and students are strongly encouraged to do at least one in Switzerland. If they do so, the career service department assists them in the process of finding a suitable hotel and position. "Cesar Ritz" Colleges is proud to say that there is a 100% internship placement rate, of which 83% are in four- and five-star hotels!
凱撒里茲提供6個月的支薪實習是課程裡非常重要的一部分，校方強烈建議學生可選擇在瑞士實習，這樣學校的就業輔導中心將會協助他們找到適合的飯店及工作職位，凱撒里茲保證所有在校學生都會有百分之百的實習就業安排，有百分之八十三的學生可以在四星級或五星級的飯店工作。

Cesar Ritz Colleges chosen by UNWTO TEDQUAL to mentor other institutions
Cesar Ritz Colleges is honoured to have been selected by the prestigious United Nations World Tourism Organization TedQual institution to take part in its mentoring scheme. Under this scheme Cesar Ritz Colleges will mentor hospitality and tourism education institutions from around the world and share its expertise with them.
Cesar Ritz Colleges has been selected for this honour because of its worldwide reputation as a centre of excellence for hospitality and tourism education. The first institution to request mentoring by Cesar Ritz Colleges is the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus (HHIC), government backed school that traces its history back to 1965.
From 20-22 September a team of four colleagues from HHIC visited our school to learn from examples of good practice in teaching methods, curriculum development, and student assessment and student administration. The next stage in the mentoring scheme will be a visit by a Cesar Ritz expert to the HHIC campus in Cyprus later this year.
The mentoring scheme is just one example of the strong partnership between the UNWTO TedQual organization and our school. In October we will host the European Conference of the TedQual network and we have been asked by TedQual to lead a new UN sponsored tourism and hospitality education project in Tunisia.

Career Development Conference 2010 in Brig campus
This year’s Career Development Conference (CDC) was once again a great success, thanks to the visit and presentation of 27 recruiters representing 14 companies around the world. The organization of this event was carried out with great professionalism by the Cesar Ritz Colleges career placement team. The main goal of the CDC is to match the hospitality and tourism students with the industry in order to facilitate a career for the managers of the future.
Recruiters from around the globe
During this event, 14 companies presented their properties and company values in order to attract students that will match with their work philosophy and ethics. After a pre-selection, 295 interviews were conducted for various positions and areas in the industry. The feedback received by the recruiters was very positive and we are delighted to know that they are interested in returning next year.
The managers of the future
The recruiters stated certain specific factors they look for and which are taken when interviewing potential employees. These factors include looking for students with motivation, a positive attitude, good personal presentation, grooming and career orientation as well as communication and people skills, in addition to language skills. For the hospitality industry, other factors included having passion and being caring.
The recruiters highlighted some of the major strengths of Cesar Ritz Students such as a strong academic preparation, good manners and attitude, an open mind, and diversity due to the cultural exposure that the school provides.

Cesar Ritz Colleges at EuroCHRIE Conference in Amsterdam, 25 - 28 October 2010瑞士凱撒里茲飯店管理大學參加2010年歐洲EuroCHRIE年會於阿姆斯特丹舉辦.
來自300多位世界各地學校代表參加2010年歐洲EuroCHRIE年會於阿姆斯特丹舉辦.其中本校學生Avantikka Raghunandan發表“Agri-tourism in India”文章在許多文章中脫穎而出,穫得發表及肯定. 學生的指導老師是Dr Susan Horner and Professor Eva Schuepbach. Dr Susan Horner同時也是CHRIE副主席, 並擔任本校Leadership program的主任.
Over 300 delegates from universities around the world and representatives from the industry gathered in the Movenpick hotel in Amsterdam to discuss the latest research in hospitality and tourism. The event proved to be an excellent opportunity to link up with university partners to discuss academic cooperation. A small delegation from Cesar Ritz Colleges Switzerland attended the conference, which had as its theme ‘Passion for Hospitality Excellence’. Avantikka Raghunandan on “Agri-tourism in India”
One highlight, was the presentation by our recent graduate Avantikka Raghunandan from India of a paper based on her final year project on agri-tourism in India. Her supervisors for this project were Dr Susan Horner and Professor Eva Schuepbach. Avantika was selected to present her final Industry Project during the annual EuroCHRIE conference because of the high quality of her work. “Many were quite surprised to learn this was an undergraduate project and are looking forward to hearing more about Avantikka, and her project, in the future!” commented Mrs Susan Fournier, Vice-President of ICHRIE and Leadership Programme Director at Cesar Ritz Colleges Switzerland.
Papers presented by lecturers from Cesar Ritz Colleges Mr Colin Seeley presented a paper on “Preferred learning styles of Hospitality students - cultural preferences”. Ms. Virginia Meza presented her work on “Integrating an indigenous student group into a Swiss hospitality programme: a case study of Panamanian students” which provoked many questions as well as encouragement for continuation of this groundbreaking research. All three papers were well received and a wide selection of institutions expressed an interest in participating in the research programme next year. This will lead to further opportunities for publishing and widening our research on learning styles.
Special thanks to Mrs Susan Fournier who in the position of Vice-President is able to inform us about the interesting events organized by ICHRIE.

聯合國世界觀光組織 (World Tourism Organization) TedQual（Certificate for Quality Tourism Education專業觀光教育研究證書認證）第一次歐洲舉辦會議於2010年10月13日在瑞士凱撒里茲飯店管理大學舉辦.
Cesar Ritz Colleges是瑞士第一個也是唯一榮獲由聯合國世界觀光組織 (World Tourism Organization)頒發 TedQual證書（Certificate for Quality Tourism Education專業觀光教育研究證書），認可Cesar RitzColleges為一專業優質飯店管理及觀光教育機構。 可見其飯店管理及觀光教育位於領導地位.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) chooses Cesar Ritz Colleges in Brig for their first annual European conference TedQual. The conference was held from the 11th to the 13th October 2010, under the direction of Professor John Swarbrooke, Academic director of Cesar Ritz Colleges. A student originally from Ollon, Switzerland was the winner and got rewarded for his remarkable work.
In total, 13 different European universities accepted the invitation to join this conference which was based upon “the role of education in the development of future leaders of the international hotel industry “. A total of 18 professors representing the UNWTO.TedQual certified participating universities covered a variety of topics relating to hotel and tourism management. The Valais canton was represented by Mr. Eric Nanchen, Director of the foundation for sustainable development of the mountain regions, who spoke about sustainable tourism.
E-portfolio by Sacha Guillermin a glance into the future
The Cesar Ritz students had the opportunity to present to these professors’ different interesting projects developed during their studies. In front of an audience of 100 people, Sacha Guillermin received an award for the best presentation for his “e-portfolio” project. This prize includes the possibility to complete internship with the UNWTO.TedQual organization and the opportunity to implement the “e-portfolio” project in different educational institutions around the world.
The UNWTO.TedQual certification at Cesar Ritz Colleges
The UNWTO.TedQual certification was created in conjunction with the World Tourism Organization which is a branch of the United Nations, and recognizes the quality of teaching practices. This certification differs from other recognitions in so far the? UNWTO.TedQual concentrates on the teaching methods and certifies the development of leadership and ethics within the educational institution in accordance with the United Nations values.
Cesar Ritz Colleges is the only Swiss hotel school that has obtained this prestigious quality recognition. As part of this organization, Cesar Ritz Colleges participates in numerous activities. Recently, the “ Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus” chose Cesar Ritz Colleges due to its international reputation and expertise in the domain of education, to help them develop their academic curriculum. As a contribution to the regional programme for Africa, Cesar Ritz Colleges assists to the development of hotel management programmes as well as the establishment of specialized libraries in the domain of Hotel and Tourism in Tunisia. This project is being developed with the collaboration of the UNWTO.Themis foundation and implemented by the Minister of Tourism and Education of Tunisia.

We are proud to learn with the highest standards of the Hospitality Industry and Mr Ortiz was in charge of passing all his knowledge in his service and beverage lessons at the University Centre Cesar Ritz. After over 14 years of hard work Mr Ortiz decided to retire but it is common to see him at school in Brig helping students and directives. The award given to Mr Ortiz was voted upon by his peers in education from different institutions around the globe. This award was fairly given in recognition of his “Passion for Excellence in hospitality and education”.

瑞士凱撒里茲飯店管理大學（Cesar Ritz Colleges Switzerland）與 瑞士知名投資公司（Invision Private Equity AG）於2011年1月13日宣佈正式簽約， Cesar Ritz Colleges正式成為Invision旗下學校。
Invision.是瑞士知名及資本額龐大之投資公司，棋下投資許多瑞士知名高科技產業及瑞士飯店管理學校─包括瑞士SEG.集團學校和目前所投資的知名瑞士凱撒里茲飯店管理大學， Cesar Ritz Colleges 與SEG雖然同樣屬於Invision投資公司旗下學校，但是兩者皆為各自獨立運作之學校，並擁有自己的師資團隊和形象品牌。

Invision Private Equity AG acquires Cesar Ritz Colleges Group
Le Bouveret, January 12, 2011 - Mr Martin Kisseleff, President of the Board of U.C. Cesar RitzColleges AG is proud to announce the change of ownership of the Cesar Ritz Colleges Group, which operates two campuses in Le Bouveret and Brig, Switzerland, to Invision Private Equity AG, a leading Swiss Private Equity firm.
Mr Kisseleff and Mr Schwestermann, sole shareholders of U.C. Cesar Ritz Colleges AG, sold 100% of the shares of the company which manages school operations in Switzerland and academic affairs in six affiliated colleges in Australia, New Zealand, India, United Arab Emirates, Iceland and Spain.
Invision’s new ownership guarantees the sustainabilityand further growth of the Colleges in the Canton of Valais and around the world.This objective requires a top management team, competent and competitive in the private higher education sector, knowledgeable of the specificities of Swiss hotel school management and business strategies. Also required is a strong sales and marketing team, capable of recruiting an ever-growing number of new students from over 70 countries. The development of new programmes and new technologies has become essential, requiring an invaluable international network, which will continuously be expanded. Mr Kisseleff’s healthcondition does not allow him to continueat the required rhythm for the future.

For the past 3 years, he has managed Hotel Institute Montreux, delivering high quality educational programs to students from over 70 nationalities. With over 15 years of management experience in various fields, MrFitzgerald is someone who is highly skilled in managing people in an International environment.He is an Irish National and holds a Masters Degree in Management from the National University of Ireland.
Mr Kisseleff and Mr Schwestermann will remain on the Board of Director’s with the aim of ensuring a smooth transition in management and ownership. Mr Frank Becker, Managing Partner of Invision and Mr Marco Martelli, Partner at Invision will also join the Board. They are both Board Members of the SEG Group.
Invision also takes over the student accommodation buildings Themis and Xenius (T&X) in Brig with 220 deluxe single rooms, a student club, lounge, self-catering restaurant, fitness and sports facilities.Cesar Ritz will make significant investments to enhance the quality of education and to further develop and expand facilities for the students.A new construction in the Le Bouveret campus is underway for 100 deluxe rooms and two floors of training kitchens and restaurant facilities, which is planned to open in the fall of 2011. Mr Kisseleff and Mr Schwestermann will remain owners of this newreal estate and have signed a long term rental agreement with Invision.

Congratulations! National Taipei University has signed the MOU of dual degree program with Cesar Ritz Colleges Switzerland. Cesar Ritz Colleges Switzerland is continuing to develop its structure and programmes. A reinforced collaboration with Washington State University clearly positions Cesar Ritz Colleges as one of the world’s leading hospitality educational establishments while our new campus in Lucerne offers unique flexible options to students.

3.The Cesar Ritz Bachelor program has a new academic partner,
Washington State University (WSU), which offers students a second
Bachelor option: BA – Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality & Business
Management in addition to the existing BIB – Bachelor of International
Business in Hotel & Tourism Management. Students may choose to work
towards one or both degrees. The BIB requires a research project, while
the BA requires a minimum 2.5 GPA.

7.The DCT Culinary Arts Programme is being merged with that of the Cesar
Ritz Culinary Arts Academy, to form a new entity called “Culinary Institute
Switzerland”. Students currently enrolled to start the program in January at
either DCT or Cesar Ritz Culinary Arts Academy will be the first to start
the program under this new name.

8.Once the Lucerne campus has opened in April/May, all new culinary
students will start their studies in Lucerne for terms 1 and 2, and then go
on their first internship. After the Internship they will go to Le Bouveret
campus for terms 3-7, thus giving them an experience in both the German
and French-speaking parts of Switzerland.

10.For students who do not have the required level of English to enter their
desired hospitality program, a new English Foundation Program will be
launched as of January at the Cesar Ritz campus in Le Bouveret. This
program is open to students of all SEG schools who need to improve their
English level. i.e. There will no longer be an Extended Bachelor
programme.
從2012年1月起English Foundation大學, 碩士新英語先修課程在Le Bouveret.布夫雷校區上課, 所有SEG學校學生會在Le Bouveret.布夫雷校區上英語課程, (一學期優惠價CHF6,600. 含學費及食宿).
11.Students who do not have the TOEFL or IELTS test will be required to
take the Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT), which will be the new
standard of English testing within the entire group. Once the student has
achieved the required English level, he/she may start their hospitality
programme.
如果學生到校開課之前未有正式托福TOEFL或亞斯IELTS, 到校後可作英語
Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT)測驗, 如果通過考試就可以上正式課程, 如果沒有可以參加英語先修課程.
